This Week’s Tarot
MIND: Five of Wands
BODY: Four of Cups
SPIRIT: The Moon
Whether it’s someone else flat out lying to you, or you lying to yourself…there’s some sort of deception informing this week. If you read last week’s newsletter, part of this energy will feel familiar. The Five of Swords has turned into the Five of Wands and moved from the “Spirit” position to the “Mind” position… suggesting that what you previously thought was a looming argument is now front and center, HAPPENING. Before you snap at someone, ask yourself if you know the full story, or if you just really want to be right. There are things you don’t know yet.

This Week’s Astrology
Sunday, March 27th: Mercury enters Aries
Monday, March 28th: Venus conjunct Saturn 21° Aquarius
Friday, April 1st: New Moon 11° Aries @ 2:24 EDT
Mercury moved into Aries early this morning so if you’ve felt like communication has been a little sPaCeY the past couple weeks, that confusion is now morphing into spice. A Mars ruled Mercury gets off by arguing, so if someone is challenging you, know that it could be playful before getting too upset. That said, Venus meets up with Saturn tomorrow, challenging us to get SERIOUS about our values. It could be time for some practical conversations with those you love.
Finally, on Friday, the Aries New Moon arrives. Conjunct Chiron, it feels like a healing crisis. Look at what house Aries rules in your birth chart- it’s this area of life where you might be confronted with a deep wound that’s ready to be addressed head on.

What a wild week.
On Tuesday, one of my best friends texted me that an old roommate of mine from college had announced she was pregnant. She said “weren’t we talking about that recently???” and of course, we had been.
I lost touch with our mutual friend more than five years ago, but she popped up in a dream of mine last month.
I dreamed that I was pregnant (never going to happen IRL) and said friend was the one driving me, very frantically, to the hospital. When I woke up, nothing about it felt random. I never really see anything as random, but certain dreams speak louder than others- especially one featuring a friend I haven’t spoken to in years.
So, being myself, I texted the other girl that had shared our college apartment, and said something along the lines of, “OHMYGODDESS IS *FRIEND* PREGNANT?! SHE WAS IN MY DREAM…IF YOU FIND OUT, LMK. DREAMED IT HERE FIRST!”
She’s less spiritually inclined than me and didn’t really make anything of it. Well! A month and a half later, she was reading the pregnancy announcement on Facebook.
Fast forward to Thursday.
I was on my merry way to the post office, happily walking the mile from my townhouse between rain showers. I had been busy with other work and hadn’t sat down to write anything for this week’s newsletter yet, so I was meditating on what I might have to say.
I couldn’t stop thinking about the dream- my premonition. I decided I would spend some time writing about other dreams I’ve had (that ended up unfolding in the physical world) over the years later that evening.
I felt like I had a good framework built in my head, so I put on a podcast for my walk back. I was listening to a several hour long episode about Uranus from The Astrology Podcast** and the host was reading this great story about an astrologer in the early 1800s.
**If you’re serious about learning astrology, this is one of the best podcasts out there. Far from “woo woo” it’s hosted by a serious astrologer with a published book, and he’s always interviewing other accomplished people in the field.
Essentially, Uranus had just been discovered, and the man in the story was trying to learn more about it by tracking his personal transits (this is still the best way to develop a deep understanding of astrology!).
The astrologer told his son that he wouldn’t be able to go outside that day, because his horoscope said that something “sudden and dangerous” was going to happen at noon.
He paced around his house and when it was a couple minutes till noon, he sat down at his desk, flummoxed. He felt fine and was wondering what he was missing.
Then, suddenly, he and his son heard someone yelling “FIRE!!!! FIRE!!” outside their home, so they ran out to see what was happening.
They were shocked to see that it was their OWN home on fire! The man ran inside before the whole place was engulfed to make a quick note about the accuracy of his presumed bad fortune.
The story ends with a friend, some time later, asking the astrologer if he was sad about his home being burned to the ground that day. He responded that he wasn’t at all, because it proved what he had been studying and said “I knew something was going to happen.”
A couple hours later, my sister called me and I missed it. I told myself I would call her back in a few hours when I got to a stopping point in my work, as a transition before I dove into my premonitions newsletter (just ordered this book by the doctor the linked article interviewed- so excited).
As soon as we were on the phone I could tell something was off. I suddenly felt anxious and started pacing around while I listened.
She said there had been a fire.
Of course I was trying to listen attentively and be there for her, but my mind drifted back to the podcast from several hours earlier.
She explained that she had decided to go out to lunch with our Mom and Stepdad and almost immediately upon sitting down together- she got a call from her neighbor.
He was yelling “FIRE!!!! FIRE!!! THERE’S A FIRE!” and she was, of course, terrified. It was unclear to her on the call where exactly the fire was…just that she needed to get home immediately.
The rest of the conversation is, frankly, a blur to me, as I’m sure it was a million times over for everyone directly involved. Sparing you all the sad details, her townhome was blessedly ok, but her neighbor’s home a few doors down was completely destroyed.
I knew it might come off insensitive, but again, being myself, I had to inquire about what time it had all happened. I told her about the podcast I had been listening to earlier with an eerily similar story, and my dream about my pregnant friend.
She said it was around 1 pm, which is, of course, exactly when I was taking my walk.
I pulled up her birth chart pretty much instantaneously, too, searching for Uranus transits. Unsurprisingly, she currently has Uranus conjunct her natal Mars.***
***This is one of the more “dangerous” transits in astrology. If you track your own transits and ever see these two planets coming together, know that accidents are HIGHLY LIKELY- especially ones electrical in nature.
I don’t have a concise grand takeaway to offer for this recount of my past week…but if you’re paying close attention, maybe you can come up with some of your own.
Until next week’s magic,
Erin River Sunday
