#45: Born to Die
Astrological Transits that Signify Change
I’ve been struggling with this newsletter for awhile now.
A similar thing happened when I got off social media years ago…I was “over it” and tried to trick my way into giving it new life. I deleted my entire feed and came up with a new theme. I changed my bio. I went from a personal account to a business account. But…none of it worked. Eventually, it was just time to go.
When I was finally ready to officially delete my accounts, I didn’t look back— and it’s a gift I’m so glad I gave myself.
I’ve been zooming out lately and watching a similar thing happen to me with this newsletter. Back in January, I started making cover photos and, for the first time, sent out horoscopes. I hoped it would reinvigorate what I felt at the beginning of my time here. But six months later, it still feels like pulling teeth most times I sit down to write. It feels like something I should do as a small business owner, not something I want to do.
As any professional astrologer can probably attest, when feelings like these surface…we seem to be hardwired to look at the birth chart for answers. So, I did.
I immediately noticed two things:
This newsletter has Mercury at 29° Capricorn
This newsletter has a 19° Pisces Midheaven
Those two points are significant right now (and always…in the anaretic degree Mercury’s case) because Pluto is currently hovering around 29° Capricorn, and Saturn is currently hovering around 19° Pisces.
Both Saturn and Pluto are harbingers of change. Saturn is concerned with longevity and maturity. It wants things to be built to last, and if they’re not, separation/boundaries inevitably occur. Pluto, on the other hand, demands depth. If it’s not honest, especially about the intense shit, it simply won’t survive.
If you’ve had any Saturnian or Plutonian transits in your own natal chart (if you’re older than 30, you’ve at minimum met Saturn) you can attest that when these planets hit, shit changes.
When I took in this information on the Gemini New Moon last week (where I’m currently writing from- hi) I thought…whoa…this newsletter was born to die.
I’m smiling to myself now because, of course, this has been the easiest/most fun correspondence to write y’all in months. I know I’m onto something when the writing just flows and nothing feels forced.
And for any of you astrology students out there, DON’T SLEEP ON PROGRESSIONS EITHER! All four angles of my TBH Magic chart (the Ascendant, the Descendant, the MC, and the IC) are shifting in August. Just a bunch of casual new 30 year cycle’s beginning…
So! What does all this mean? It means that since writing the first half of this message, I’ve come up with an exciting new direction (hello, The Chariot card) to take this newsletter! I’m not quite ready to announce it yet, but Mercury is cazimi right now so I wanted to make it c l e a r that change is coming.
